Stockdale Elementary Family,

I hope that each of you had a wonderful and relaxing summer break.  We are excited to get our students back in our hallways and classrooms.  Likewise, after a long school year of isolation from parents and the community, we are looking forward to welcoming the families of our students back to our campus.  The challenges and changes of last school year, brought with them enormous opportunities for growth and change.  Student drop-off procedures were stringent last year, as no parents were allowed in the building and only pre-k and kindergarten parents were allowed to escort their students to the courtyard, where teachers and aides met them and took them to their classrooms.  What teachers noticed, was that this made the transition for students into the classroom much smoother.  The first day of school is a special time for parents and students, and we want to celebrate these moments with you.  Our doors and hallways will be open for parents on the first day of school so they can walk their children to class.  After the first day, please drop students off and allow staff to walk them to their classrooms as needed.  The intent of this operational guideline is not to keep parents out, but rather to ensure a smooth educational transition for our students.  A map indicating drop off patterns can be viewed at the following link.   https://drive.google.com/file/d/1U-0k0Njl4s1hA8oYqKwuZt3SOv2KdFpM/view?usp=sharing.   If you are walking your student in to class, please park in the new parking lot to the left of the building, and be mindful of the student drop-off traffic pattern.

Friday lunches with parents will resume this year, but we will not have Friday lunches for parents on the first Friday of the school year (August 20th).  Please remember that you should only bring lunches for your children.  Meals can not be shared with other students without written consent from the parent of the other child, and authorization from the school office.   Please check in with Dena at the front office if you are coming to eat with your child.

While not required, face coverings are strongly recommended while you are on campus.

Blessings to All,

Susan Loep

Stockdale Elementary Principal
