I'm writing to let you know that the Office of Admissions plans to admit a few thousand fall 2019 freshman applicants to academic majors after 5 p.m. Central time on Friday, December 7. Emails to admitted students will ask them to visit MyStatus for an update.
We are delivering about a third of our fall 2019 admission offers to majors this week, and we'd like to suggest that you refrain from a public announcement until students have received their notifications. Fall 2019 applicants not admitted this week are still being considered for the thousands of spots that remain to be filled. Everyone will receive a final decision from us no later than—and perhaps well before—March 1.
As always, students with questions should contact their UT admissions counselor. Please let me know if you have questions about decisions that I can help to answer.
