Austin Akin Advances to State Cross Country Meet
Launch the media gallery 1 playerStockdale's Cross Country team traveled to San Antonio to run in the Regional Meet, Saturday, November 1st. About 50 fans, family and friends gathered to watch Stockdale compete in a field of 158 runners; all trying to reach that next level. Austin Akin ran his personal best, with a time of 16:50. That time won him a trip to the State Cross Country Meet, by placing 7th overall. Akin's teammates ran well also, coming in 15th as a team. Team times and places were as follows. Collin Akin placed 39 with a time of 18:31, Samuel Scriven placed 78 with a time of 19:33, Joel Marquez placed 94 with a time of 20:18, Martin Sanchez placed 127 with a time of 26:01, and Joshua Rangel was injured and coud not run.
The State Cross Country Meet will be held Saturday, November 8, in Round Rock, Texas, at Old Settlers Park. Austin will run at 10:10 a.m.
