<mnE Ps dnt bleev der is a gNR8N d/c b/t em n thr teen> Do you speak teen? Many parents don’t believe there is a generation disconnect between them and their teen. Brought to you by the Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities from Education Service Center, Region 20 - The 411 on Internet Safety was developed to provide all campus staff and parents information on the hottest topics and realistic trends facing children, tweens and teens today. This session provides an overview on how tweens and teens communicate via social networking sites, both positively and negatively. The current trend/misuse of text messages and the implications/issues about “sexting” is addressed.
The session is highly interactive and contains relevant videos with real-life scenarios. Sensitive material is addressed as the content is realistic in nature. Adult audiences are recommended and not designed for student assemblies.
