Millionaire Club

The “Millionaire Club” works alongside our accelerated reading program by counting words read in each AR book. Each time your child successfully masters an AR test they will accumulate the total number of words in that book to “deposit” in their “account”. Each grade level has a range of set goals given each nine weeks. The end-of-the-year goals for each grade are listed below:
2nd Grade: 250,000
3rd Grade: 450,000
4th Grade: 750,000
5th Grade: 1,000,000
Teachers will track students’ word counts each nine weeks. Students will be rewarded by their teacher for reaching short term goals. A “Millionaire Club” t-shirt will be given to students reaching their mid-year goal in December! And students who reach the end-of-the-year goal will be inducted into the “Millionaire Club” and will be rewarded with a special party and field trip!!!!
This program is intended as an incentive to promote reading and will not be used as a grade. It will not take the place of the AR reading grade/goal given by your teacher. Please contact you Reading grade level teacher if you have any questions. We encourage you to help your child reach their AR goal and “Millionaire Club” goal by having them read 20 minutes each night.
